In this week, I have learned some knowledge about operators and operating systems. In the lecture, I learned that machines take over in batches, time sharing, and task-switching to time-splitting. The most impressive part for me was that an operating system should have kernel and utilities. The reason is that I did not understanding how an operating system operates and what did it include.
The most interested part in this week was how an operating system operates. I began to use computer about 13-year-old. Right now, I use my personal computer each day, and I cannot study or work without computer. However, I did not know how a computer's operating system work. From this week, I got some points about operating systems from lecture. Furthermore, nothing was very confused me. This is good news!
From this week's lecture, I do not think anything will help for my normal life. However, last pages of lecture notes were very useful. It shows an algorithm, and it helps me to recall some knowledge that had already learnt.
The most impression of my achievements this week was to finish project one, because I created a group with two new friends, and we worked together very efficiently.

Weekly summary for CSC 104
In this week, I have learned some knowledge about Von Neumann, storage and time sharing. In the lecture, I learned that what Von Neumann looks like, and some issues about Von Neumann, such as Von Neumann bottleneck and mortality of Moore's law. The most impressive part for me was that storage can be defined as hard drive, compact disc and flash drive.
The most interested and confused part in this week was how to change the color and dimensions of a picture. I am very confused about the fourth video named "decompose and reconstruct" in the tutorial hand out. The step of "bitmap" in this video was very challenging for me. Therefore, I am not very confident in this part of this week. However, after I asked this part from TA, I could understand the meaning of fourth video.
Although my course major is not about computer science, some information about storage and computer operating system could help me in my life. For example, when I purchased a new computer, the storage and computer operating system was very useful.
The one of my achievements this week was to finish the quiz of CSC104, because I thought this quiz was most difficult for me compared with the past quiz.
This week's tutorial was very helpful for me, because I solved some questions that were confused to me. Furthermore, the Wikipedia assignment spent me a lot of time, and I am very interested in my first blog.
